Lioness: Hidden Treasures is a compilation album and the third studio album by English recording artist Amy Winehouse, released posthumously by her team. It was released on December 2, 2011 through Island Records. It features select unreleased songs, covers and demos.
Writing and development[]
Following Winehouse's death in 2011, producer Salaam Remi had decided that it was important for the public to hear a select amount of songs that were originally hidden away.
The posthumous album contains content recorded in 2002 through to 2011. The first song recorded was "The Girl From Ipanema", which was made on the day that Amy and Salaam had met, with the last song being "Body and Soul" with Tony Bennett, which was recorded in 2011 and was "the last thing Amy had recorded in the studio".
